W. Paul Goebel, MD joined the practice at the Tigard clinic in September 2019. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas in 2010 and completed his residency through University of Washington at Peace Health in SW Washington in 2013.
Dr. Goebel became Board Certified in Family Medicine in July 2013.
Dr. Goebel chose Family Practice because of the ability to have diversity in patients, and ability to see a wide variety of diagnoses each day. He enjoys getting to know his patient’s life and procedures such as joint injections, auricular acupuncture, and treating chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease.
While in the Air Force, Dr. Goebel received the Bronze Star with Valor for his service during his time in Afghanistan as a Combat Controller. After his service, he worked in a lab and received a Biology Award for excellence for research on the effects of heavy metals at the State University of New York in Albany. Dr. Goebel also published an article in Neurotoxicology for research in lead exposed drosophila.
Dr. Goebel likes to spend his free time participating in archery, playing piano, going to movies and dinner with friends. He also enjoys designing and sewing new clothes, gardening, exercising, and time with family.
